2020 Annual General Meeting Postponed
The Branch Annual General Meeting for 2020, originally scheduled for Wednesday April 15, has been postponed due to the current COVID-19 crisis. We have been advised by our National Office that group meetings, particularly involving seniors, could put members at risk and it would be best to reschedule all meetings until the situation stabilizes.
At this time we are unable to determine when we might be able to safely hold our AGM, so we are not immediately proposing an alternate date. Please check back, and we will provide updates as soon as we can.

New Branch Website and Email Address
We are working to establish a new website for the Ottawa Valley Branch. The new website will be part of the national website for Federal Retirees instead of being a stand-alone website. This Branch pages will be more consistent with our National website in appearance and presentation, and will be easier to maintain and update. It also means that all of the information for members, both from your branch and from our national system will be in one place. We hope you will find this change convenient.
To access the new website, enter https://federalretirees.ca/ottawavalley in your browser. Once there, you can see other pages for the Ottawa Valley Branch by scrolling down the index to the left, and selecting another page. We will be adding more content soon.
We do encourage members to establish a login capability in order to have access to member-only documents. Just click on "Log in" in the top right corner, then look for "create a member account" to establish your login and password.
2019 Almonte Seniors Expo
The Branch hosted a table at the 2019 Almonte Seniors Expo event on September 5. Steve Fahie, Bill Irwin and Sandra Dormer were there to talk to one and all. The event was well attended, and we were able to talk to many people about our Association and our election priorities. We even got to chat with a couple of local politicians. The handouts were also well received by the almost 250 people who visited our display! We just hope it results in a few new members. In any case, the exposure was worth the days effort.
